LONG HAUL DRIVER APPLICATION

We are looking for Long Haul Drivers to transport cargo to our customer’s facilities. This includes drivers (will be using Tajveer Transport's truck and trailer) and owner operators (driver has their own truck and/or trailer). Please specify which role you are looking for in the application form.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Valid Class 1 license. 1 year experience preferred but not required. New drivers are encouraged to apply.

• A clean driver’s abstract.

• Ability to use maps and other trip planning aids.

• Responsible and reliable.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Professional demeanor.

• Passport and vaccinations are required to cross the border.

Responsibilities:

• Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle​

• Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment

• Perform preventive maintenance

• Perform brake adjustments

• Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo

• Perform emergency roadside repairs

• Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials

• Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption

• Receive and relay information to central dispatch

• Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy

Applicants will be required to pass a criminal background check and a drug and alcohol test in compliance with DOT requirements.
